MIRROR

When I was younger

the water of the world welled up through the ground

and flooded the fields with silver.

Driving to my granny's house after school

old car chug-chugging through seas of fields

and I knew the sky had fallen

huge silver splinters shattered on the green

jagged edges cutting the trees.
