Between The Tides

air tanged with salt 

this breath of brine

and rock pools languish 

in the sun

these waiting rooms 

between the tides

caressed by foamy 

fingertips

a tiny fish 

with silver flanks

is anything but 

bored or still

she seeks in joy 

her sustenance

and tells me not to fear

the flow
